Just a quick update tonight on two storm systems heading our way this week. We are entering what looks to be quieter pattern for the next 7-10- days so any storm systems moving through during this time don't look like too much to get concerned about.

Storm 1 - Wednesday PM - Thursday AM

This storm looks pretty hit and miss, most areas East of the Continental Divide will see little to no snow out of this one. The mountains will fair only slightly better with generally between 0-2" or 1-3" expected across most of the Northern and Central mountains. Here's a quick look at what the National Blend of Models is thinking with the mid-week storm:

Some eastern and central Palmer Divide locations may pick up a dusting out of the mid-week storm so don't be surprised to see just a tiny bit of snow into Elbert and northern El Paso counties on Thursday morning. It should be very light and shouldn't cause any travel impacts.

Storm 2 -Friday AM - Friday PM / Saturday AM

Not a lot of model agreement with the end-of-week storm, beyond the models we can just see the direction the storm is coming from, the timing and the other factors setup are not favorable for much out of that storm either. However, the chance of at least a bit of accumulating snow by the end of the week is better than the storm in the middle of the week.

Let's check out the models having a fight on this one:

The GFS says: there may be something there for the front range foothills and areas South and West of the Palmer Divide.

The Euro however, is not really excited about any part of this storm and has nearly no snow accumulation for mot of Colorado.

My Thoughts

Given the pattern we have set up this week, I'm leaning towards the lower solutions with both storms. I don't see a lot of great energy, lift or even moisture with either one of these storms. So, just keep in mind we will see a bit of cooler air, a bit of cloudiness, a few snow showers here and there... but not expecting really much to write home about with either of these storms.

Interesting...

Since our weather looks fairly boring this week, I stumbled across this.

When's the last time you saw a heat advisory for California in February?

Have a great week, I'll update if needed so keep your eyes on the Facebook page or this site!
