Wishing you, your family and friends a happy and safe Christmas in this crazy 2020!

Castle Rock/Palmer Divide Christmas Forecast

Castle Rock Christmas Forecast 2020

Both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day look dry around the Palmer Divide with above average temperatures - the good news is the wind will die down after Wednesday! Chances of snow are pretty non-existent so our chance of a white christmas just depends on how much snow you have on the ground and how much of it lasts by Friday morning.

The National Weather Service's description of an "official" white Christmas is having 1 or more inches of snow on the ground. Very few places along the Palmer Divide will meet this criteria by Friday morning sadly, obviously many areas in the mountains will!

Weather Around the State

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve looks calm for most areas across the state as our latest storm system moves out of the area and high pressure build in to the West. There may be lingering snow showers in the Northwestern part of the state so be aware that travel up there may still but a bit spotty. Additionally, we still expect some wind close to and on the Continental Divide. On the plains, sunny conditions with breezy conditions closer to the foothills but otherwise dry.

Temperatures will be fairly seasonal but some areas will be a bit above average due to downsloping winds.

Christmas Day

Christmas Day will be pleasant across the plains with warmer (above average) temperatures and mostly sunny skies. Breezy conditions will remain in some foothills locations and many locations along the Continental Divide. As high pressure builds into the West we don't see a whole lot of snow showing up around the state on Christmas Day so travel conditions should be pretty decent for many locations.

That about does it for this update!

Merry Christmas!
