Winter Storm watches, warnings and advisories are now in place for many areas West of Denver along the mountains. A strong storm system is expected to move through later on Sunday, bringing high winds, cold temperatures and decent snowfall for many mountain areas.

Winter Storm Warning - 12PM October 1 through 12AM October 3
8-16 inches of snow possible, high winds, low visibility and treacherous travel conditions. Some areas may see close to 20 inches of snow.
A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow are
expected or occurring. Strong winds and blowing snow are also
possible. This will make travel very hazardous
Winter Weather Advisory - 6PM October 1 through 12AM October 3
5-10 inches of snow possible, high winds, low visibility and difficult travel condtions.
Travel conditions may be slow and hazardous tonight
and Monday. Areas of slush and snow will likely develop on
many mountain roads during the periods of heavier snowfall.
Hunters and other outdoor interests should take note of this
prolonged period of winter weather, and be prepared for much
colder temperatures and accumulating snow.
