Our newest update takes a look at Castle Rock's weather for the 2016 year. This includes all the data we collected from our weather station and compares it against climatological averages for our area from the National Weather Service.
Do you think the town finished above average on temperature or below average?
Many folks we asked answered that we finished warmer than normal. The actual results may surprise you!
How about precipitation, did Castle Rock have a wetter year or drier year than average?
The general consensus on this was pretty accurate, if you think back through the entire year this result should be no surprise to you.

We are looking forward to an interesting year for Castle Rock's weather. With La Nina in its dieing phase and a transition into a neutral weather pattern we are in for a wild ride. When we don't have an El Nino or La Nina it gets tougher to predict the weather long range.
The good news for snow lovers is that if La Nina dies quickly enough, we should see a higher probability of a big spring snow storm. That being said, the odds won't be as high as if we had an El Nino event ongoing, but it's something for snow lovers to keep an eye out for!
