Strong monsoon thunderstorms moved through many areas South of Denver last night and the rainfall totals for some of those areas are nothing short of impressive.
Rainfall Totals
The general trend for Douglas County was a larger amount of rainfall South and East of Castle Rock. The further North and West you went from town, the less rain you got, not to say that most areas didn't see decent rainfall.
Our official measurement for the Meadows in Castle Rock was 1.21 inches of rainfall total.
Most areas in and around town ended up in the 1-1.5 inch range. Areas South and East of town ended up in the 2-3 inch range.
Keep an eye out today, we have a 50%-60% chance for storms again this afternoon and evening. Due to the high moisture amounts in the air, storms could again produce heavy rain and localized flooding.
