Colorado Drought Status

Data updated through 12/05/2022

Highest drought impacts this fall so far are mainly across Eastern Colorado along with Central and Eastern sections of the Palmer Divide. While snow accumulation for many of these areas is near average, the dry nature of the snow and strong winds experienced in the region through the fall have dried out the soil substantially. We are not seeing major fire impacts outside of Red Flag Warning days, but without consistent and sufficient snow with decent moisture content – the drought status East of the Continental Divide will continue to deteriorate.
