Business Sponsorships
Mountain Wave Weather offers a limited number of seasonal sponsorships for local businesses that are a good fit for Colorado weather coverage.
I keep this simple on purpose.
I’m not looking to cram the forecast full of ads, and I’m not trying to turn this into some big, overbuilt sponsorship program. The goal is to work with a small number of local businesses that make sense for the season and can be part of the conversation in a way that feels natural.
In most cases, I’ll cap things at around five businesses per season, with one business per industry.
So if I already have a roofer for that season, I won’t take on another roofer. Same idea with insurance, HVAC, hail repair, and so on.
How seasonal sponsorships work
Sponsorships are sold by season, not by month.
- One-time seasonal sponsorships
- Not recurring
- No pressure to renew
Near the end of the season, I’ll reach out and let you know your sponsorship period is almost up. From there, you can decide what makes sense for your business.
You can renew for the next season, skip it entirely, or come back later for a different season. Nothing complicated.
Severe Weather Season
The standard Severe Weather Season runs from May 1 through July 31.
That covers the core stretch of Colorado severe weather, including hail, strong to severe thunderstorms, tornado potential, damaging wind, and the higher-impact storm setups people tend to pay close attention to.
Extended Severe Weather Season
For some businesses, it may make sense to stay involved a little longer.
The Extended Severe Weather Season runs from May 1 through August 31.
This adds the late-summer storm pattern as well, including more August thunderstorm activity and heavy rain or flooding concerns.
Monsoon Season
The standard Monsoon Season runs from August 1 through September 30.
This covers Colorado’s late-summer storm pattern, when deeper moisture can lead to more frequent thunderstorms, heavier rain, flash flooding concerns, and day-to-day weather impacts, especially in the mountains and nearby foothills.
This season can be a good fit for businesses that make sense during the late-summer pattern, especially when flooding, lightning, travel weather, and daily storm chances become more of the focus.
Sponsorship options
Seasonal Sponsor
This is the simpler option and a good fit for businesses that want a steady seasonal presence without overcomplicating it.
- Sponsorship for the full season selected
- Listing on the sponsor page
- Mention as a seasonal sponsor during relevant weather coverage when appropriate
- One industry-exclusive slot per season
Seasonal Sponsor Plus
This includes everything in the Seasonal Sponsor tier, with a little more visibility throughout the season.
This is a better fit for businesses that want more prominent placement during active stretches of weather coverage.
- Everything in Seasonal Sponsor
- More prominent placement when applicable
- Additional mentions during relevant seasonal coverage
Who tends to be a good fit
The best sponsor fits are usually local businesses that connect naturally with Colorado weather.
- Roofing
- Hail repair / paintless dent repair
- Insurance
- HVAC
- Electricians / generators
- Exterior repair services
- Flood or restoration services
That said, I’m open to other local businesses too if the fit makes sense.
A couple important notes
I keep sponsor spots limited so things stay useful and don’t turn into clutter.
Sponsor mentions are worked in naturally when they fit the weather setup and the content. I’m not interested in forcing awkward ad copy into forecast posts just to check a box.
The goal is to keep the forecast useful, local, and trustworthy while giving small businesses a simple way to support what I do and get in front of a highly weather-aware Colorado audience.
Interested?
If your business feels like a good fit for a seasonal sponsorship, feel free to reach out. I’m always happy to talk through whether it makes sense, what season would fit best, and keep it simple from there.

Why Advertise with Mountain Wave Weather?
The value in advertising here is pretty simple: local visibility at times when people are actually paying attention.
Weather gets people to check in more often, pay closer attention, and look for information that affects their day. For small businesses, that creates a more natural connection than a random ad dropped in front of someone who isn’t really engaged.
This can be a strong fit for businesses that become more relevant during active weather, changing seasons, or higher-impact Colorado patterns. It can also be a good option for businesses that just want a steady local presence without overcomplicating things.
The goal isn’t to build some giant ad machine. It’s to offer a limited number of simple, seasonal partnerships that make sense for both the audience and the business.
