About John Braddock

A Lifetime of Colorado Weather — Put to Work for You

I’m a Colorado native who has been forecasting for the Palmer Divide, Front Range, and Rocky Mountain region for nearly two decades. What started with storm chasing across Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, and Texas turned into a career built on understanding how weather actually behaves in this terrain — and translating that into real, usable intelligence for the people and businesses who need it.

I hold a Bachelor of Science in Broadcast and Operational Meteorology from Mississippi State University, full membership in the American Meteorological Society, and recognition from NOAA as a Weather Ready Nation Ambassador. I have co-authored peer-reviewed research published through the AMS.

On the professional side, I consult for law firms and insurance companies on forensic meteorology matters — reconstructing weather conditions, analyzing storm damage, and serving as a qualified expert in legal proceedings. I also work directly with Colorado businesses that need accurate, hyperlocal weather intelligence to protect their operations and crews.

Mountain Wave Weather reaches over 20,000 visitors per day during active weather events and has built a following of 27,000+ across the Palmer Divide corridor — because the forecasts are local, accurate, and built on real experience in this terrain.

Detailed reconstruction of historical conditions at a specific location and time — temperature, wind, precipitation, visibility, and severe weather occurrence — using certified data sources.

Hail & Wind Damage Analysis

Verification of hail size, wind speed, and storm track for insurance claims and property damage disputes. Includes certified weather data, radar analysis, and official NWS storm reports.

Slip & Fall Cases

Documentation of icing, snow accumulation, freezing precipitation, and visibility conditions at a specific time and location — supporting or defending premises liability claims.

Available for deposition and trial testimony as a qualified meteorological expert. Experienced communicating complex atmospheric science in plain language for judges and juries.

Business Consulting

Weather Intelligence for Colorado Businesses

If your operations, crew safety, or revenue are affected by Colorado weather, a phone app isn’t enough. You need a local expert who knows how the Palmer Divide, I-25 corridor, and Front Range actually behave.

Roofing & Hail Repair

Real-time severe weather alerts, hail probability forecasts, and storm tracking so your crews stay safe and your scheduling stays ahead of conditions.

Snow Removal & Landscaping

Precise snowfall accumulation forecasts, storm timing, and asset repositioning alerts for the Palmer Divide — where the NWS zone forecast often misses the local details.

Event Planning

Day-of and lead-up forecasting for outdoor events. Severe weather alerting, lightning monitoring, and contingency planning so your event runs safely regardless of what the sky does.

Utilities & Infrastructure

Preparation alerts for extreme heat, cold, high winds, and fire weather conditions. Precipitation and hydrology forecasts for operations that cannot afford surprises.

Athletes & Endurance Events

Pre-race and race-day forecasting for runners, cyclists, and event directors. Wind, precipitation, temperature, and lightning analysis for safe participation and smart planning.

Emergency Management

In-advance forecasting and preparation support for high-impact weather events. Assistance with hydrological events, fire weather, and public safety communication.
